Review
The Second
Death of Locke is not only a work of art but a true epic fantasy standalone.
The world building strikes the perfect balance between not enough and too much
world-building. You are given everything in timely manner but never have to
struggle through large info dumps.
In this
novel Kier, a mage and his well, Grey, embark on a perilous journey to protect
the heir of the disappeared isle of Locke. The romance is truly romantic, it's
a real friends-to-lovers romance. There's court intrigue, epic battles, and a
found family. There's nothing else I could have asked for in this fantastic
fiction debut. There's everything to love here, from the dialogue to the
romance to the shocking reveals and mystery surrounding what truly happened to
Locke.
I loved the
male and female protagonists. Grey and Kier would both give everything and
anything to protect the other. They have such an in-sync relationship. Grey and
Kier both see tremendous character growth. The romance is perfection.
Really
there's not a whole lot more to say about this book without giving away huge
spoilers, other than of course, if you like fantasy or romantasy, this book is
an absolute must-read. I promise you will love this novel like I did.
