Review:

Codename Sailor V is a classic and iconic shoujo Manga that is still amazing over 30 years later.

In Sailor V, volume 1 we see Minako as the titular Sailor V. She is a normal 13 year old girl until a talking cat  informs her that she is a warrior named Sailor V. We follow her adventures as she learns to grapple with being a teenager and super soldier.

I loved Minako. She's so relatable, I remember when I was her age all I wanted to do was read comics, play video games and eat...well actually at 36 I haven't really changed lol. She's irresponsible but highly capable and exceedingly endearing. I thoroughly enjoyed her banter with her partner Artemis whose much more responsible and sensible. There's some interesting bad guys and side characters too.

What the art lacks in technical skill it makes up for with whimsy, delicate lines, and beautiful girlish flourishes. Theres stunning color chapter breaks as well that are total eye candy. The colors are vibrant and beautiful.

If you love shoujo manga and magical girls this is absolute required reading. Rush to get this copy of Sailor V, the series that inspired the world wide beloved classic Sailor Moon.
